CFD Analyst

Job Description

Experience: 6+ years / 8+ years Major Purpose: Performs engine related CFD analysis work for a defined portion of a project. Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design/analysis reviews. Develops recommendations within established guidelines; demonstrates accountability in delivering first time right. Position Specific Duties: Perform Engine CFD analysis to support the design of John Deere Power Systems products using various analysis and simulation software. Demonstrate ownership and accountability mindset Obtain correlation with field/experimental data Compile analysis results into a form that can be easily interpreted by all stakeholders Perform hand calculations to verify the accuracy wherever applicable Propose feasible optimized design solutions to meet product requirements Schedule and lead analysis reviews to share results with design & PV&V engineers. During these meetings, offer what insight they can provide in order to help solve problems. Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance-based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include the possible involvement of other functional engineers. Propose feasible optimized design solutions to meet acceptance criteria and to improve cost, weight targets. Responsible for timelines of the projects executed individually and with the help of team members. Required: Prior experience with CFD modeling tools: AVL, Star-CCM+, Ansys Experience in engine auxiliaries CHT and multiphase analysis Excellent simulation based design recommendations abilities Knowledge in engine technology and engineering principles Excellent Collaboration and Communication skills - Conduct simulation-based design explorations and communicate recommendations for new product introduction programs as well as current product improvement programs - Knowledge in engineering principles, theory, and practice as well as basic product knowledge
