CCTV Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CCTV Technician to join our dynamic security services team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of surveillance and security systems. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of client premises through effective system design, installation, and service. Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), alarms, fire alarm systems, and other security hardware in accordance with schematics and system design plans
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on surveillance systems, security systems, low voltage wiring, cabling, and associated electrical components
• Troubleshoot system issues using remote access software and diagnostic tools; repair or replace defective hardware or wiring as needed
• Assist in integrating security systems with telecommunication networks, power supplies, and building automation controls
• Document installation processes, system configurations, schematics, and service reports accurately for future reference
• Provide field service support by responding promptly to service calls; ensure all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety regulations
• Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper placement of sensors, cameras, and cabling infrastructure

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician specializing in CCTV, security systems, or low voltage electrical installations
• Strong knowledge of computer networking principles related to surveillance and security systems
• Mechanical knowledge for handling hand tools, power tools, cable management, and lock smithing tasks
• Familiarity with system design concepts including schematics for surveillance layouts and alarm configurations
• Hands-on experience working with sensors, IDS devices, fire alarm systems, telecommunication wiring, and security hardware
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with remote access software is a plus
• Electrical experience related to cabling (including low voltage wiring), power supplies, and NEC compliance standards
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently in complex security environments
• Construction background or familiarity with building processes is advantageous
• Valid field service certification or relevant technical training; locksmithing or alarm system sales experience is a bonus
