CKs Bakery, a Chennai-based bakery retail chain and part of the 1,800-crore CavinKare Group, was established in 2015. Since then, it has expanded its presence across Chennai, Trichy, Cuddalore, Pondicherry, Kanchipuram, Madurai, and Bangalore. Known for delivering high-quality products at affordable prices, the brands signature offerings include its popular pastries and paninis.

About the Role:

The Pastry & Bakery Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and producing high-quality Cakes, Pastries, Desserts, Breads, and Baked Goods in accordance with CK’s Bakery’s culinary standards. This role involves recipe creation, daily production management, cost control, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation. The Pastry & Bakery Chef also maintains strict hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

A.

  • Prepare a wide range of cakes, pastries, baked goods, desserts, breads, and specialty items.
  • Develop new recipes and seasonal menus in line with culinary trends and customer preferences.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Oversee daily production schedules to meet service and business requirements.

B.

  • Maintain correct stock levels and oversee storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
  • Ensure efficient use of raw materials to minimize waste and control food costs.
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment, ovens, mixers, and tools safely and effectively.
  • Ensure proper portion control and adherence to standard recipes.

C.

  • Ensure all products meet established quality standards.
  • Maintain excellent levels of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations (As per the policy).
  • Perform regular quality checks on ingredients and finished products.

D.

  • Create and test new dessert and bakery items, including seasonal and promotional offerings.
  • Ensure menu items meet cost targets and customer expectations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, modern pastry techniques, and flavor innovations.

Education & Experience

  • Formal training or certification in Pastry Arts/Culinary Arts is an advantage

  • Candidates with

    minimum 10th (pass certificate)

    and a genuine passion for baking, cakes, pastries, and creative culinary work are

    strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Enthusiastic beginners with a strong willingness to learn are welcome.

  • Prior experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food production environment is preferred.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and production processes accurately.
