Job Summary
The Category Manager will lead the strategy, P&L ownership, growth, and performance of assigned product categories on the e-commerce platform. The role includes vendor management, pricing, assortment planning, digital merchandising, demand forecasting, and working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, supply chain, and technology teams to drive revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Planning
- Define category vision, roadmap, and growth plan aligned with business goals.
- Identify new products, brands, and suppliers relevant to the wellness & lifestyle category.
- Conduct market research, trend analysis, competition mapping, and customer insights.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Identify, onboard & negotiate with vendors/suppliers for pricing, exclusivity & commercial terms.
- Ensure SLA compliance for procurement, quality, packaging & fulfillment.
- Maintain strong relationships to drive cost advantage and product innovation.
Assortment & Pricing
- Build and optimize category assortment based on customer demand trends.
- Define pricing architecture, promotion strategy, and discount mechanisms.
- Drive sales through bundling, cross-selling, upselling & membership-based pricing models.
P&L & Performance Management
- Manage end-to-end category P&L including sales, margins, inventory & returns.
- Track weekly/monthly category KPIs and take corrective actions for revenue optimization.
- Collaborate with finance & supply chain teams for accurate forecasting and demand planning.
Digital Merchandising & Growth
- Work with digital marketing teams to drive visibility, traffic, and conversions.
- Ensure accurate listing, content, SEO, UX placements, and category filters.
- Co-create campaign calendars with marketing for new launches and seasonal promotions.
Customer Experience & Quality
- Ensure product quality standards, packaging guidelines, and brand alignment.
- Monitor customer reviews, returns & service issues and drive improvements.
- Implement initiatives to increase repeat purchase, NPS, and membership engagement.
Key Skills Required
- Category management expertise, preferably in e-commerce, wellness, lifestyle, FMCG, D2C, retail, beauty, or home/living.
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and P&L ownership capability.
- Proven experience in brand/vendor negotiations and product lifecycle management.
- Good understanding of digital commerce metrics (CTR, AOV, CAC, CVR, ROAS etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets, analytics dashboards, and marketplace tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, Supply Chain or related disciplines.
- Minimum
510 years of experience in category management
, preferably in e-commerce / D2C / retail

wellness, lifestyle, beauty, nutraceuticals, home & living products
will be an added advantage.
