Supervise the preparation and serving of food and beverages in compliance with health and safety standards. Ensure that the canteen is well-stocked with necessary supplies and manage inventory effectively. Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, dining area, and surrounding premises. Handle the disposal of waste in an environmentally responsible manner. Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise and manage canteen staff, including cooks, servers, and cleaners. Schedule and manage staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage at all times. Provide training to new staff on food safety, customer service, and operational procedures. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvement. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and safety protocols are adhered to at all times. Maintain health and safety records, ensuring compliance with local health authority guidelines. Conduct regular audits and inspections of the kitchen and food preparation areas. Customer Service: Interact with employees and guests to ensure satisfaction with food and services. Address and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally. Gather feedback from employees to improve food quality and service. Financial Management: Monitor and manage the budget for the canteen, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
