Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 5G Core Network Engineer with expertise in developing and managing 5G core networks (preferably Open5GS or other open-source 5G Core solutions). This individual will be responsible for the implementation, and enhancement of the 5G RAN and Core network, with a deep focus on 5G call flows, protocols, and network performance optimization. Key Responsibilities: 5G Core Network Development: Work on the development, implementation, and enhancement of Open5GS or other open-source 5G core network solutions, leveraging your expertise in C/C++ programming. Call Flow Management: In-depth understanding and experience in developing, and troubleshooting 5G call flows (including RAN and Core network interactions). Protocol Handling: Knowledge and hands-on experience with 5G network protocols (NAS, RRC, PDCP, RLC, S1AP, X2AP, GTP, etc.) is must. Network Optimization: Assist in optimizing and troubleshooting network performance, ensuring reliability, scalability, and low latency in the 5G network. RAN Integration: Collaborate with RAN (Radio Access Network) engineers to ensure seamless interaction between the 5G Core and the Radio Access Network. Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation on the design, implementation, and configuration of the 5G core network. Provide regular updates and reports on project progress. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including network architects, RAN engineers, and developers to ensure alignment and successful project delivery. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience with 5G Core Networks: Strong experience with 5G core network development, and troubleshooting. Hands-on development experience with Open5GS or other open-source 5G core network solutions is must. Programming Expertise: Proficiency in C and C++ for network development, optimization, and troubleshooting is must. Understanding of 5G Call Flows: In-depth knowledge of 5G signaling and call flows (including RAN-CN interfaces, NAS, and X2AP protocols) is must. Telecommunication Protocols: Hands-on experience with 5G protocols (such as S1AP, X2AP, GTP, PDCP, RLC, and NAS) is must. RAN-CN Integration: Experience with integrating 5G Core networks with Radio Access Networks (RAN) and troubleshooting connectivity issues is must. Problem-Solving & Debugging: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex network issues. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to document designs, report issues, and collaborate with team members. Bachelors/Masters Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Skills: Experience with 5G Standards: Knowledge of 5G standards (3GPP, etc.) and how they influence core network design and development. Open-Source Development: Experience with contributing to open-source projects or customizing open-source tools like Open5GS.
