Business Head

Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Head – Trucking Operations to oversee and drive the end-to-end functioning of our logistics and transportation business. The ideal candidate will take complete charge of operational management, business growth, profitability, and team leadership—essentially acting as the strategic and operational head of the company in day-to-day affairs. This position is designed for someone who can independently manage operations, optimize fleet utilization, and ensure profitability and service excellence while aligning with the company’s long-term vision. Key Roles & Responsibilities 1. Business Operations ManagementSupervise daily trucking operations including dispatch, routing, vehicle tracking, and load planning. Ensure 100% compliance with RTO, transport, and hazardous goods regulations. Oversee maintenance schedules, fuel management, and fleet health to minimize downtime. Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for on-ground efficiency and safety. 2. Financial & Commercial OversightMonitor P&L performance, operating costs, and revenue growth. Negotiate vendor contracts, driver payouts, and fuel partnerships to optimize margins. Manage client billing, credit control, and receivables with the accounts team. Prepare and review monthly MIS and operational performance reports. 3. Business Growth & Client ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key accounts. Identify new business opportunities, contract logistics, and fleet expansion areas. Ensure customer satisfaction through timely delivery, transparency, and reliability. 4. People Leadership & AdministrationLead a cross-functional team including transport managers, HR, accounts, and operations staff. Set performance targets, monitor EOD/EOW reports, and drive accountability. Oversee recruitment, training, and motivation of drivers and ground staff. Create a performance-driven and safety-conscious work culture. 5. Technology & Process ImprovementOversee VTS (Vehicle Tracking System) usage and data analytics for operational visibility. Drive digitalization and process automation in fleet and trip management. Continuously improve logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce cost.
