Role Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, driving revenue growth, and contributing to the company’s strategic expansion plans. The role involves market research, lead generation, sales presentations, negotiations, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deal closures.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Business Acquisition

  • Identify and generate leads through networking, cold calling, industry events, and digital channels.
  • Build a robust sales pipeline and convert high-quality prospects into clients.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product/service demonstrations.

2. Relationship Management

  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with key clients.
  • Understand client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts.

3. Market Research & Strategy

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities.
  • Develop business growth strategies based on market insights.
  • Work with leadership to design sales plans, targets, and forecasts.

4. Sales Negotiation & Closure

  • Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and presentations.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service-level agreements.
  • Drive the sales cycle from lead to closure, ensuring revenue targets are met.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, product, and finance teams to ensure client requirements are delivered.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams for product/service improvements.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions using CRM tools.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly MIS reports, sales forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and sales processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3–7 years of experience in business development or B2B sales.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and handling major accounts.
  • Industry-specific experience (optional, based on your requirement).
