Role & responsibilities Market Development & Sales Strategy Identify, develop, and execute business opportunities in the maritime decarbonization sector, particularly in energy-saving devices (ESDs), FEUM compliance, surplus COe credit trading etc. Develop a pipeline of potential customers, including shipowners, operators, charterers, and ISM managers. Promote ESDs and innovative energy-efficient technologies that help vessels achieve regulatory compliance while reducing operational costs. Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments impacting Azollas offerings. Develop tailored sales strategies and go-to-market plans to maximize revenue growth. Client Engagement & Relationship Management Engage with clients to understand their compliance and energy efficiency needs, providing customized COe credit solutions and ESD recommendations. Deliver compelling sales pitches, presentations, and proposals to potential buyers of surplus COe credits and ESD solutions. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and identify upselling opportunities. Work closely with technical teams and project managers to ensure smooth deployment of ESDs. Energy-Saving Devices (ESDs) & Project Management Promote and manage ESD implementation projects, including technologies like wind-assisted propulsion, air lubrication systems, and optimized hull coatings. Collaborate with engineering teams, shipowners, and classification societies to assess feasibility and ROI for ESD investments. Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility assessment to installation and post-implementation performance evaluation. Ensure that ESDs align with FEUM and IMO decarbonization targets. Negotiation & Deal Structuring Negotiate commercial contracts, pricing structures, and terms to close deals successfully. Work with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Monitor pricing dynamics and advise on competitive pricing strategies for surplus COe credits and ESD projects. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support Work closely with operations, finance, and marketing teams to align sales efforts with Azollas overall business objectives. Provide feedback to product and technical teams to enhance Azollas offerings based on customer needs. Performance Tracking & Reporting Track sales performance, revenue targets, and market trends using CRM tools. Prepare regular reports and forecasts for senior management, highlighting key business opportunities and challenges. Preferred candidate profile Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the maritime, shipping, fuel trading, or carbon markets. Strong understanding of maritime decarbonization regulations, energy-saving technologies (ESDs), and alternative fuel markets. Experience in project management for ship retrofits and sustainability initiatives is a plus. Sales & Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successfully closing deals and driving revenue growth. Strong B2B sales experience, ideally within shipowner, charterer, or fuel supplier networks. Experience in structuring carbon credit sales, emissions trading, and sustainability-linked transactions. Technical & Analytical Abilities: Knowledge of alternative marine fuels (biofuels, LNG, methanol, RFNBOs, etc.) and their impact on carbon intensity. Understanding of ESDs and their efficiency benefits, including wind-assisted propulsion, air lubrication systems, and energy-efficient propellers. Ability to analyze financial and operational data to develop cost-saving compliance solutions for clients. Soft Skills & Competencies: Strong networking and relationship management skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry. Education & Certifications: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Environmental Science, Energy, Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in carbon trading, ESG, sustainability, or project management (PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
