Business Development Leader (Manager / AVP / VP)

Key Responsibilities

1. Market Strategy & Intelligence

  • Conduct comprehensive market sizing, segmentation, and opportunity mapping across assigned territories.
  • Track and analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
  • Leverage multiple research channels — industry reports, competitor benchmarking, trade exhibitions, and direct market feedback — to shape business direction.

2. Competitive Benchmarking & Positioning

  • Develop and maintain a robust competitive intelligence framework.
  • Perform detailed technical and commercial benchmarking to identify differentiators, gaps, and new value propositions.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to translate insights into superior offerings and solutions.

3. Strategic Growth Planning

  • Formulate and execute business development strategies including:
    • High-impact market entry and expansion plans
    • Strategic product positioning and niche application-based solutions
    • Key account acquisition and retention programs for enterprise clients
    • Dynamic pricing, promotional, and go-to-market campaigns
  • Drive visibility and brand engagement through exhibitions, open houses, and digital platforms.

4. Sales Enablement & Leadership

  • Partner closely with front-line sales teams to unlock large-scale opportunities and close complex deals.
  • Enable the sales force with advanced tools — including product demos, application libraries, customer success stories, and capital project intelligence.
  • Support high-value customer engagements and strategic negotiations.

5. Performance Tracking & Business Review

  • Lead regular sales performance reviews and pipeline assessments to ensure achievement of growth targets.
  • Identify bottlenecks, optimize sales processes, and propose data-driven corrective actions.
  • Continuously refine strategies to improve market share and customer penetration.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic interface between Sales, Product, Marketing, Design, and Service teams.
  • Champion customer-centric innovation and co-create solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Experience:

    15-25 years of experience in B2B business development, product strategy, or key account management within CNC, industrial machinery, or capital equipment sectors.

Core Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking and market development expertise
  • Deep technical understanding of CNC machining and applications
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in business case preparation, CRM platforms, and MS Office tools
  • Excellent communication skills in English (regional language fluency is a plus)

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel extensively for client engagements, exhibitions, and strategy reviews.
