Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM) Department: Sales & Marketing Location: Bangalore Reporting To: Branch Manager/ Regional Sales Head Job Summary: The Business Development Manager is responsible for strategizing and driving business growth in the plywood industry by identifying new markets, expanding the dealer and distributor network, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. The role involves developing and executing business plans, achieving sales targets, and ensuring the companys competitive positioning in the market. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives. Identify market opportunities, set targets, and plan activities to expand the companys presence in new and existing markets. Dealer & Distributor Network Expansion: Build and expand the network of dealers and distributors in untapped regions. Oversee on boarding, training, and development of new channel partners. Maintain strong relationships with existing channel partners to enhance business performance. Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive sales of plywoods by promoting the companys products and value propositions. Set sales targets for the team and ensure they are met or exceeded. Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions when necessary. Market Research & Competitor Analysis: Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitors strategies to stay ahead in the market. Provide actionable insights to the senior management to refine business strategies. Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors, builders, and key industry stakeholders. Address customer queries and complaints, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty. Brand Development & Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities, trade shows, and events. Ensure the company’s brand is effectively represented in the market. Team Management & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of sales executives and business development representatives. Coordinate with production, logistics, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present sales forecasts, performance reports, and market insights to senior management. Maintain accurate records of business activities and customer interactions. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of plywood, laminates, and related building materials. Proven track record in sales and business development within the industry. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Analytical mind-set with the ability to interpret market data and trends. Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and sales management software. Self-motivated, result-oriented, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities. Ability to travel extensively to meet clients and oversee regional operations. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred. Experience: 7–10 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in the plywood or building materials industry. Familiarity with regional markets and languages is an added advantage.
