We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development to expand and strengthen our presence in the Defense vertical . The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of the Defense domain or Defense customers , including Government and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). The role involves customer visits , generating new sales inquiries , maintaining client relationships , and ensuring business growth through strategic sales initiatives. Key Responsibilities: 1. Client Engagement & Business Development: Conduct regular visits to Government and PSU clients to identify opportunities and promote company solutions. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business . Generate and follow up on new business leads to expand customer base within the Defense sector . Identify potential partnerships and opportunities to collaborate on government projects and initiatives. 2. Market Expansion & Lead Generation: Actively explore and develop new markets , targeting key stakeholders in the Defense ecosystem . Gather intelligence on market trends, competitor activities , and emerging opportunities. Engage in networking activities, attend industry events, trade shows, and Defense exhibitions to generate potential leads. 3. Travel & Customer Interaction: Willingness to travel locally and to outstation markets to meet clients and explore business opportunities. Conduct face-to-face interactions with Defence customers to understand their requirements and suggest appropriate solutions. 4. Sales Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, inquiries, and customer interactions. Prepare presentations and sales reports for periodic reviews and performance assessment. Provide insights and recommendations for business strategy adjustments to improve sales effectiveness. 5. Target Achievement & Growth Strategy: Work proactively toward achieving predefined sales targets within stipulated timelines. Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives to boost revenue and market penetration. Collaborate with the internal team to ensure seamless execution of sales and post-sales support. Qualifications & Skills: Prior experience in Defense business development or Defense sales is highly preferred. Strong understanding of Government procurement processes and Defense industry trends. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently , take initiative, and drive business growth.
