The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and driving revenue growth for BPO services. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in selling contact center and back-office outsourcing solutions across domestic or international markets.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesLead Generation & Sales

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for BPO/BPM services (voice, non-voice, blended, back-office, digital support).
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through cold calling, networking, market research, and industry events.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure.

Client Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with clients, decision-makers, and influencers.
  • Conduct client meetings, discovery sessions, and capability presentations.
  • Understand client needs and present appropriate BPO solutions.

Solution Design & Proposal Management

  • Collaborate with operations, WFM, HR, and finance teams to create customized solutions.
  • Work on RFP/RFI responses, proposals, pricing, and commercial negotiation.
  • Ensure alignment of proposed solutions with client requirements and internal capabilities.

Market Research & Strategy

  • Identify emerging market trends and new opportunities within the BPO space.
  • Track competitor activities and maintain industry intelligence.
  • Develop strategies to penetrate new verticals or geographies.

Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with transition and operations teams during onboarding of new clients.
  • Participate in internal reviews, sales forecasting, and pipeline reporting.
  • Ensure smooth communication between BD and delivery teams.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of BPO operations, SLA structures, staffing models, FTE/transaction-based pricing.
  • Proven experience in closing BPO deals (domestic/international).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to create proposals, business cases, and pitch decks.
  • Strong customer orientation and relationship-building ability.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently.

4. Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 3–8+ years of experience in Business Development / Sales in the BPO/BPM industry.
  • Experience in BFSI, Telecom, E-commerce, Healthcare, Retail, or IT/ITES sectors is an advantage.

5. KPIs / Performance Metrics

  • New business acquisition and revenue achieved.
  • Sales pipeline value and conversion ratio.
  • Number of qualified leads generated.
  • Client satisfaction and retention.
  • Profitability of deals closed.

6. Personal Attributes
