Job Description

As a Technical Specialist for bulk materials handling belts at Kalyani, India, your role involves actively participating in Product Development (PD) projects for Bulk Materials Handling business in APAC. You will drive the Conveying Solutions (CS) New Product innovation, aiming to establish innovation foundations for BA IAPAC to lead in highly developed products and systems. **Roles & Responsibilities:** - Manage assigned product development projects and hold technical responsibility for bulk materials handling belts in Kalyani, India. - Actively participate in PD projects for Bulk Materials Handling business in APAC. - Drive the New Product Development Funnel, contribute to product management activities, and support strategic projects. - Acquire customers and develop products to meet India standards. - Define DFMEA and product DVP, develop test plans and procedures. - Establish and document design standards for the product line. - Analyze own and competitor products systematically, focusing on performance and manufacturing processes. - Train new engineering staff, assist in complaint resolutions, and provide Application Engineering support. - Develop belt specifications, define materials and process steps for prototype belts. - Create new belt constructions to enhance functionality and durability performance. - Improve belt quality, reduce process, scrap, and material costs. - Document prototype belt test results and issue product specifications with tolerances. - Contribute to sustainable products by approving raw materials into final products. - Approve alternative suppliers for Raw Materials. - Collaborate with Material Platform / Material Process Engineering to define specifications and test procedures for raw material suppliers. - Assist in developing new alternative material suppliers and support audits when required. **Your Profile:** - University level Bachelor's Degree in Core Engineering or Science. - Minimum 5 years in rubber materials R & D, and rubber product development; or > 10 years working experience in general rubber and plastics industries. - Moderate knowledge of management skills, tools, and techniques. **About Us:** Continental develops technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility.
