Job Title: Business Development Manager – Bus Body Building / Heavy Commercial Vehicles

Location:Panambuzhy(Kombanad-Ernakulam)
Industry: Automotive/Bus Bodybuilding/HeavyVehicleManufacturing

Reporting to: Managing Director.

Ø Salary: (Basic Rs.60,000/- to 1,50,000/-) + performance-based incentives

Ø Working hours: 08:45 am to 06:00pm

Ø Accommodation: Will be provided by the company.

Ø Experience: 5–10 years (preferred in bus body or any commercial vehicle Sales/Marketing/Business development with leading brands such as Bharat Benz, Ashok Leyland, TATA, Eicher, Mahindra, SML, Force, TVS, etc.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead sales and business growth in the bus body building and heavy vehicle segment. The ideal candidate will have strong industry connections, technical understanding of body fabrication, and proven experience in managing key clients and OEM relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

Ø Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in the bus body building / coach manufacturing / HCV segment.

Ø Engage directly with OEMs, STUs, fleet operators, dealers, and private transport companies.

Ø Generate and convert qualified leads into sales orders for bus bodies and related solutions.

Ø Prepare and deliver technical-commercial proposals, tenders, and quotations.

Ø Negotiate commercial terms and close orders while ensuring margin objectives are met.

Ø Collaborate with design and production teams for customization as per OEM or client requirements.

Client & OEM Relationship Management

Ø Maintain and grow strong professional relationships with key OEMs and channel partners.

Ø Managed /experienced in the interactions with Bharat Benz, Ashok Leyland, TATA, Eicher, Mahindra, SML, Force, TVS, etc., for approvals, business tie-ups, and product alignment.

Ø Coordinate with OEM regional offices for technical approvals, chassis allotment, and business forecasts.

Market Analysis & Strategy

Ø Track industry trends, pricing, competitor activity, and customer feedback.

Ø Identify new product or segment opportunities (e.g., electric buses, school buses, staff transport, intercity coaches).

Ø Support management in developing sales strategy, pricing policy, and product positioning.

Targets & Reporting

Ø Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and margin targets as assigned.

Ø Develop territory-wise business plans and forecasts.

Ø Submit regular MIS reports, sales performance dashboards, pipeline status, and market feedback.

Ø Monitor and ensure timely payment collection and adherence to credit policies.

Coordination & Execution

Ø Liaise with internal teams (Design, Production, Quality, Dispatch, Finance) to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Ø Participate in industry exhibitions, tenders, and product demonstrations.

Ø Conduct post-sales follow-up and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

Ø Any Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering /MBA added advantage

Ø 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within the automotive/heavy vehicle industry.

Ø Strong understanding of bus body manufacturing, fabrication processes, and regulations.

Ø Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ø Willingness to travel extensively – for business purposes.

Ø Achieve Targets and leads to Success – Clear Track Records.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
