As a Hardware Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and validating the performance, reliability, and compliance of electronic and electrical hardware systems. You will work closely with design, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure that all of BRIGHTBLUs products meet functional, environmental, and regulatory standards. This role is crucial for ensuring that our EV charging solutions meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and durability. You will take on the following Job responsibilities:1. Test Planning & ExecutionDevelop and execute hardware validation plans for AC and DC EV chargers, covering power electronics, control systems, and communication interfaces.Define test cases, validation strategies, and pass/fail criteria based on design requirements and industry standards. Conduct manual and automated testing for functional, electrical, and environmental validation.2. Hardware Functional & Performance TestingValidate new PCB’s, power electronics & protection circuits.Test thermal behavior, cooling mechanisms, and heat dissipation of different components.Perform dynamic load testing to simulate different EV charging scenarios.3. Communication & Protocol ValidationTest EV-to-charger communication for compliance with ISO 15118, OCPP, DIN 70121, and IEC 61851.Validate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and LTE connectivity for cloud integration.4. Compliance & Regulatory TestingConduct EMC/EMI testing to ensure chargers meet global regulatory standards.Perform electrical safety testing to verify overvoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit, earthing, insulation resistance and other electrical protections.Support third-party certification processes for CE, UL & IEC approvals.5. Failure Analysis & DebuggingInvestigate hardware failures, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.Work with R&D and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues before mass production.Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, thermal cameras, and spectrum analyzers to debug circuits.6. Test Automation & Data AnalysisDevelop automated test setups and jigs to improve testing efficiency.Maintain detailed test reports, root cause analysis reports, logs, and documentation for regulatory compliance.Analyze field data trends to predict failure modes and improve product reliability.7. Collaboration with Cross-functional TeamsWork closely with Hardware, Software, and Production Engineering teams to refine charger designs and production processes.Support manufacturing and quality teams in resolving production and field failures.8. Continuous Improvement & InnovationContribute to design for validation (DFV) and design for testing (DFT) strategies.Explore new test methodologies, automation tools, and validation techniques.Keep up to date with emerging EV charging technologies and industry regulations. You will report directly to the Head of Product.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electronics/ electrical/ embedded systems engineering.Experience: 2-5 years in electronics or electrical domain.Familiarity with a wide range of electronic and electrical hardware devices.Strong understanding of electronic circuits and reading PCB schematics and layouts.Proficient in using test equipment (Multimeter, oscilloscopes, etc) and soldering electronic components.Strong understanding of embedded software testing.Understanding of EMI/EMC.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
