Job Description

Position Overview:
As a Remote Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk, you will manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support our accounting team to ensure smooth financial operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Must have experience in transportation and logistics bookkeeping and experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Generate financial reports as needed
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk or similar role
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel)
  • Strong understanding of basic Canadian accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing tasks virtually
  • Must be able to speak and write English

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience with payroll systems
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and compliance
