BIW Fixture Design Engineer

Job Description

Role description Education: B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Automotive / Design) Hands Experience in Designing & Detailing spot welding/MIG welding fixtures (automated and manual) CATIA V5 UG NX Design experience in BIW welding fixtures Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process Experience in working in OEMs like GM, VW, BMW, FOR, DAIMLER, etc. Experience in conducting Technical Review with customer Exposure to multiple CAD tools will be an added advantage Experience in Teamcenter will be added advantage Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills. Responsibilities Concept Design (Design clamps, pin units stationary as well as retractable, slides and dumps) Exposure to Welding Lines Process & Layout (Spot Welding, ARC welding) Performs basic engineering calculations to verify design integrity Create 2D manufacturing drawings and BOM Knowledge of tolerances and materials Read and understand GD&T drawings Designing of BIW welding fixtures Concept Design, 3D finish, 2D Layout & detailing Quality check as per customer standards Documentation as per customer standards Technical reviews with customer Co-ordination with Offshore Team.
