About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Plastic Engineer (CIPET preferred) with a strong foundation in biodegradable, compostable, and sustainable polymer packaging. The candidate will play a key role in developing new product formulations, ensuring product quality, and optimizing production processes for compostable films, bags, and other packaging products. Key Responsibilities: Product Development: Research and develop new compostable and biodegradable packaging materials aligned with CPCB standards. Formulate and test blends of bio-based resins (PLA, PBAT, starch-based polymers, etc.) to achieve required mechanical and barrier properties. Collaborate with machine operators and production engineers to optimize extrusion and bag-making parameters. Innovate new product types (e.g., high-strength films, liquid-resistant bags, protective sleeves, etc.) based on market and client needs. Maintain and update formulation records, technical data sheets, and testing reports. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on incoming raw materials, in-process rolls, and finished bags. Ensure compliance with CPCB and ISO quality parameters for compostability, tensile strength, thickness, and degradation rate. Design and implement quality assurance procedures for film uniformity, sealing strength, and appearance. Investigate and resolve product quality issues through root-cause analysis. Work closely with the production team to minimize defects and wastage. Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and maintain technical documentation required for CPCB and laboratory testing approvals.
