Wood India Consulting Division is currently recruiting for a BIM Coordinator to join our Digital Operations team.This position is based in Chennai and because success in the role will require in-person contact with the team, remote work is not an option.
The Role
The role involves delivering projects in line with ISO 19650 standards, ensuring alignment with client expectations for digital, data, 3D visualisation, and connected data platform solutions. The role requires a solid understanding of multi-dimensional project delivery (1D to 6D), managing information exchanges (e.g., IFC, DEXPI, NWD, RVT), and overseeing Common Data Environments (CDEs).Additionally, the engineer helps define and enhance digital workflows, systems, and tools, supports internal training efforts, and assists with 2D/3D drafting and engineering design tasks across global teams.A key part of the role involves advising clients on their digital and BIM strategies, both current and future, to ensure best practices in project delivery.

Responsibilities
The key objectives for this role are:
- Understand the requirement to deliver projects to ISO19650
- Defining requirements to ensure full alignment with our clients when proposing digital, data, 3DV solutions or Connected Data Platforms
- Providing support and guidance to clients with reference to their current and future BIM & digital needs
- Developing and supporting plans for data improvement and migration, including managing and supporting identified gaps in data quality
- Deliver BIM Execution Plan’s (BEP) in response to Employer’s Information Requirement (EIR), Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) & Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP)
- Understand the principles of 1D, 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D & 6D and how they contribute to project delivery requirements
- Producing BIM compliant models using point cloud data (Scan to BIM). This may also include working to other standards, as per client requirements
- Oversee the management of Information Exchange protocols and deliverables, including, IFC, DEXPI, NWD & RVT among others
- Management and use of Common Data Environments (CDE’s)
- Defining scopes for new and / or improved systems, toolsets, processes, and workflows in the
- digital space
- Developing and supporting plans for data improvement and migration, including managing, and supporting identified gaps in data quality
- Assist Technical Lead’s in delivering internal training initiatives when required
- Assist with other parts of the business in 2D / 3D draughting and engineering design as required

Expected:
- Bachelor’s degree or appropriate level of experience
- Strong understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles and standards, especially ISO 19650
- Proficiency in BIM software - Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360 / ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Good understanding of BIM dimensions (3D, 4D, 5D, 6D) and their applications
- Ability to deliver internal BIM training or support digital upskilling across teams
- Understanding of data migration, information management, and connected data platforms
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, paired with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams

Desirable:
- Previous experience in coordinating large-scale infrastructure or building projects
