Job Summary: Milacron is seeking a forward-thinking Senior BI Developer to join our team and help us leverage the power of cloud-based analytics. This role centers around the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, enabling scalable, secure, and modern BI solutions that drive strategic decisions across the organization. Essential/Key Functions (Primary Responsibilities):

Design and develop end-to-end BI solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Power BI

Build robust data pipelines and ETL processes in Azure to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources

Develop semantic models and interactive dashboards in Power BI using DAX and Power Query (M)

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver cloud-native analytics solutions

Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of data workflows and storage in Azure
-
Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across all BI assets
-
Monitor and troubleshoot Azure-based BI systems and processes to ensure reliability and scalability

Stay up to date with the latest Azure innovations and recommend enhancements

Partner with product owners, analysts, and engineers in Agile sprints to deliver high-impact BI solutions
Management Responsibilities:

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
-
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure tools: Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, and Power BI

Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling for cloud environments

Deep understanding of DAX and Power Query (M)

Experience building and orchestrating data workflows in Azure Databricks using SQL

Proficiency with Azure DevOps for managing code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation

Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and role-based access control (RBAC)

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a BI development role.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP-500, DP-203, or equivalent)

Experience with Delta Lake, Lakehouse, and Medallion architecture

Knowledge of Python or R for data engineering and analytics

Familiarity with Agile development practices in a BI context

Knowledge of the latest trends in AI/ML and how they can be leveraged in the context of BI
Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
Mostly an office environment. May occasionally be exposed to a shop environment, which exposes employees to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock, and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment, such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting, etc.
