About the Role

Backup Infrastructure Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Monitor & Manage:
Oversee incidents, service requests, and alerts related to Veeam and backup infrastructure.
Troubleshoot & Resolve:
Investigate technical issues across Veeam components (Backup Server, Proxies, Repositories) and integrated systems like VMware, storage, and networking.
Collaborate:
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely resolution and smooth operations.
Analyze & Improve:
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.
Document:
Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, and configurations.
Maintain & Upgrade:
Support patching, upgrades, and configuration validation activities.
On-Call Support:
Participate in scheduled support or on-call rotations.
Optimize:
Continuously enhance backup processes, performance, and reliability in partnership with infrastructure and application teams.

Skills & Qualifications

Required Technical Skills:

Advanced IT/PC literacy
Intermediate knowledge of hardware/software concepts
Familiarity with ITIL processes
Core platform knowledge Intermediate
Basic administration of Linux & Windows systems
Understanding of backup technologies
VMware vCenter & NSX basic administration

Preferred:

Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
