Backend Engineer SSE - Java

Join the Prodapt team in building a unified, cloud-native environment for authoring, simulating, deploying, and monitoring business and risk rules at scale. You will help design, develop, and optimize robust RuleOps workflows that empower risk analysts, data scientists, and engineers to efficiently manage and operationalize rules with strong support for simulation, governance, and integration.

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java/Groovy, Spring Boot, and ORM frameworks.

• Architect and implement distributed systems, RESTful APIs, microservices, and pub-sub messaging solutions.

• Write efficient, multi-threaded Java code to optimize server performance and scalability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality backend solutions.

• Implement and integrate monitoring tools (such as DataDog) and instrument code to enable comprehensive monitoring and alerting.

• Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.

• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application reliability.

• Stay updated with backend engineering best practices and new technologies.

• Strong proficiency in Java/Groovy, Spring Boot, and ORM frameworks.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture, API design, microservices, and pub-sub patterns.

• Proven experience in multi-threaded code development in Java.

• Hands-on experience with monitoring systems (preferably DataDog) and instrumenting code for observability.

• Ability to design scalable and maintainable backend solutions.

• Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
