Role Overview As a Backend Engineer at Dharmakit Networks for Project Ax1, you'll be part of the tech team building the backend infrastructure powering our next-gen LLM systems. You’ll work closely with researchers, infra engineers, and product minds to create high-performance, scalable services that move real AI into real products, with high security and reliability. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend applications and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI Develop data pipelines, orchestration logic, and deployment-ready backends for AI & ML workflows. Build infrastructure for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and real-time AI agent serving. Manage structured/unstructured data and optimize performance and cost Ensure adherence to good coding practices, including writing modular code, implementing unit tests, and conducting code reviews. Set up and maintain CI/CD workflows and enforce clean, modular coding standards and version control systems Work with cross-functional teams including AI researchers and infra leads. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI Experts, AI researchers, infra leads, and product engineers. Continuously integrate and deploy code using version control practices and CI/CD pipelines. Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the future of India’s AI infrastructure. Must-Have Skills And Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong experience with Python and frameworks like FastAPI / Flask / Django. Excellent understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. Familiar with Git, Docker, and Linux environments. Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques, workflows and understanding of AI deployment. Prior exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and building AI-driven search or retrieval systems. Bonus: Knowledge of cloud (AWS/GCP), CI/CD tools, open-source contributions. Excellent understanding of Git and version control principles. Strong analytical and debugging skills. You take ownership, move fast, and want to build something that lasts. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Good To Have Experince must involve in backend development using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django). Excellent understanding of cloud concepts and services (AWS, GCP, Azure). Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. Open Source : Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio showcasing backend development.
