Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Backend Developer (SDE I). The role involves end-to-end backend feature development, system enhancement, and integration with various internal services. The position requires a strong foundation in backend programming, database design, and familiarity with modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side features from design to deployment
• Work closely with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to support smooth release cycles
• Improve scalability, security, and maintainability of backend systems
• Write clear, maintainable code aligned with architectural and coding guidelines
• Design and work with microservices and internal service communication patterns
• Contribute to system monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization
• Explore and incorporate AI-assisted development practices where beneficial

Required Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with at least two programming languages, including one dynamic and one object-oriented language (e.g., Ruby, Java)
• Experience working with backend frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Spring Boot)
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of writing unit and integration tests with meaningful coverage
• Experience working with microservices architectures
• Ability to develop clean, modular code using principles such as DRY, SOLID, and KISS

Preferred (Optional) Skills

• Experience building systems that operate at scale
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding workflows or interest in adopting them
• Exposure to distributed systems or event-driven architectures
