Backend Developer - JD About SafeStart & YOUFactors: SafeStart is a behavioural safety consulting company addressing the common safety challenges by focusing on reducing human errors. YOUFactors is a digital platform for safety and performance, providing insights and tools to reduce human errors using neuroscience based techniques and help in building safety skills to form new habits. Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the backend development team to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable server-side applications. Develop APIs, web services, and server-side logic using Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Manage and optimize databases using Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) techniques like type. Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to ensure seamless integration of backend functionality. Maintain and improve the codebase, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices. Adhere to information security policies and procedures to ensure secure development practices. Implement caching mechanisms to enhance application performance and reduce server load. Design and develop RESTful APIs following best practices for security and scalability. Troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime. Optimize application performance through code optimization, load balancing, and effective database queries. Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems and processes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (B.E/B.Tech in CSE/IT is highly preferred). 3+ years of professional experience in backend development. Strong proficiency in Node.js and server-side JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience with frameworks like Express.js. Working knowledge of React for seamless backend-frontend integration. Experience with databases such as MongoDB and MySQL. Proficiency in Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) techniques for database management. Familiarity with HTML5 and basic knowledge of frontend technologies. Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, preferably using AWS Code Pipeline. Proficiency in Git for version control. Solid understanding of DevOps concepts and practices. Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud infrastructure. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Experience with implementing security measures like JWT, OAuth, and secure headers. Ability to optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, or superfast and Jest . Experience with microservices architecture. Understanding of security best practices in backend development. Familiarity with serverless computing frameworks such as AWS Lambda. Show more Show less
