Job Description

Azure Cloud Engineer

Location:

Engagement

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

Design and implement a scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure.
Implement Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Functions.
Develop highly secure network architectures using VNets, NSGs, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, and Private Endpoints

Monitoring and Optimisation:

Monitor cloud performance, ensuring optimal system operation.
Optimise cloud resources to improve performance and reduce costs.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

Design fault-tolerant architectures with appropriate redundancy across availability zones
Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for all critical systems
Establish RTO/RPO requirements and implement appropriate solutions

Automation and DevOps:

Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
Automate deployments and workflows using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, or other scripting tools.

Security and Compliance:

Implement robust cloud security measures as appropriate to the solution risk profile.
Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Troubleshooting:

Work closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated with the latest Azure services and industry best practices.
Provide recommendations to enhance existing cloud solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Experience:

6-8+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure.
1+ years in senior cloud engineering roles
Proven track record of designing and implementing Azure-based solutions.

Technical Skills:

Expert-level knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, Private Link, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute)
Deep experience with Azure security services (Azure AD, Key Vault, Security Center, Sentinel, DDoS Protection)
Proven experience architecting and implementing high-security, multi-tier applications
Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Experience with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, AKS) -
beneficial for microservices components
Experience with database technologies (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, Redis Cache)

Certifications (Preferred):

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
