Experience: 2–4 years What you’ll do Sculpt high-quality characters with attention to anatomy, form, and style. Create optimized low-poly models, clean retopology, and efficient UVs for production. Perform baking, texturing, and shader work to deliver realistic, game-ready assets. Build and prepare characters for animation through rigging and skinning workflows. Develop believable hair and grooming setups for MetaHuman and non-MetaHuman characters. Integrate assets smoothly into UE5, collaborating with tech artists and C++ programmers to ensure performance and visual fidelity. We're seeking a passionate animation intern to join our team building an epic, action-adventure game: Unsung Empires: The Cholas II. The internship will last for 3 months, starting on March 15, 2025, and will be based in Chennai. As an animation intern, your primary responsibility will be to create and implement in-game animations, breathing life into the game design. You will collaborate closely with Character Artists, Modelers, Programmers, and other team members on a day-to-day basis. Your tasks will include animating characters and props in Maya, utilizing hand-key techniques or working with mocap to create dynamic animations, and ensuring visual consistency across all animations. Additionally, you will integrate animations directly into the game engine, ensuring they function seamlessly within gameplay and respond naturally to player inputs. To excel in this role, you should have a good understanding of Maya and be familiar with basic animation principles and techniques, including timing, movement, and weight, within the context of games. While knowledge of Unreal Engine is a bonus, it is not a requirement. If you enjoy playing PC/Console games, that would be an added advantage.
