Job Description

JD for DevOps

CI/CD pipelines troubleshooting,
Docker, GitLab, GitHub,
Basics of Terraform,
strong support attitude for Developers with good communication skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

Helping developers write Docker files
Helping developers add CI to their projects

This includes CI templates that we manage and share (GitLab today, migrating to GitHub soon)
Also includes helping them with custom CI they write.

Identifying the cause of a failed CI pipeline and guiding the developer to resolution
Sharing documentation / answering questions
Basic terraform writing / troubleshooting on behalf of developers

Applications are deployed to kubernetes using a simplified terraform module we maintain

Troubleshooting kubernetes deployments. For example:

Reading events / issues from kubernetes about a deployment

Is the health check specified correctly? Is the check failing?
Is there a volume the deployment needs that is missing?

Checking pod logs for issues in the application

Is there a required environment variable missing?
Communicating the issue to the developer / showing them how to see it in their logs
