Job Description

As an Assistant Vice President - Product Control at Barclays, you will spearhead the evolution of the digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will utilize cutting-edge technology to revolutionize digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain valuation methodologies for various financial instruments, implementing appropriate valuation models based on instrument characteristics and market conditions. - Manage the valuation process for the bank's trading portfolio, including regular valuations and approval of valuations performed by colleagues. - Analyze market data to assess valuation inputs, assumptions, and risks. - Prepare and review valuation reports, support in regulatory filings and financial statements preparation. - Provide valuation insights to traders, risk professionals, and senior colleagues, identifying areas for improvement in methodologies and processes. Qualifications Required: - Experience in valuation methodologies for financial instruments. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market data and valuation risks. - Knowledge of regulatory requirements and financial reporting. - Effective communication skills to convey complex financial information to various stakeholders. - Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead a team in performing complex tasks. The role is based out of Chennai. In this role, you will oversee the financial aspects of trading activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the bank's trading book, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing insights into trading performance. Accountabilities include: - Reconciliation of daily P&L figures for trading desks to align with valued positions in the trading book. - Support in identifying, assessing, and mitigating trading risks, reporting to senior colleagues. - Maintenance and analysis of the bank's trading data, providing insights on trading performance. - Preparation and submission of regulatory reports, support in external audits. - Communication of complex financial information to stakeholders. As an Assistant Vice President, your expectations include advising and influencing decision-making, contributing to policy development, and ensuring operational effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions and lead a team to deliver impactful work that affects the entire business function. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing risk, strengthening controls, and engaging in complex data analysis to solve problems creatively and effectively.,
