Automation Test Lead

Job Description

Role & responsibilities Automation Strategy & Framework Design: Lead the development and implementation of an automation testing strategy for the payment gateway product. Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and reusable test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium , TestNG , JUnit. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of automation testers, helping them grow technically and professionally. Ensure the automation test suite is efficient, comprehensive, and aligned with the products goals. Test Automation Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and ensure test automation coverage for both functional and non-functional requirements (performance, security, etc.). CI/CD Integration : Oversee the integration of automated tests into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms, ensuring that automated tests are executed on every code change. Test Execution & Reporting: Ensure the execution of automated tests and analyze the results to identify defects, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Provide clear and actionable reports to stakeholders. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements, technical specifications, and user stories. Provide input on testability and lead the creation of detailed test plans. Performance & Security Testing: Oversee performance testing efforts to ensure that the payment gateway can handle a high volume of transactions under load. Lead security testing to ensure that the product adheres to industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS) and is free of vulnerabilities. Test Environment Management: Lead the creation and maintenance of test environments and tools, ensuring that environments are properly configured for automation execution and simulate real-world payment scenarios. Risk & Defect Management: Identify risks, report defects, and collaborate with the development team to prioritize and track defects. Own the process of identifying test gaps and implementing strategies for addressing them. Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements in test automation and ensure that new testing tools and techniques are continuously evaluated for integration into the testing framework Skills and Qualifications: Proven Leadership Experience: At least 4 years of experience in automation testing, with at least 2 years experience as a senior role. Experience with BDD with Cucumber must. Advanced Test Automation Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks and scripts for web applications , APIs , and payment systems using tools such as Selenium, TestNG , JUnit. Experience with Appium Testing with RestAssured. Deep Understanding of Payment Systems: Experience with payment gateway systems, payment processing workflows, and industry standards (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR) is highly desirable. CI/CD & DevOps Experience: Strong experience with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working in Agile environments. Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub , CircleCI. Scripting & Programming Skills: Expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar to develop robust test automation scripts. Performance & Security Testing: Experience in performance testing (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing (e.g., OWASP Top 10, vulnerability scanning) for payment gateway systems. Testing Tools Proficiency: Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., JIRA , TestRail), version control systems ( Git ), and bug tracking tools. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and think critically about testing strategies. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Database Testing - Postregs & Mysql testing Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: ISTQB certification or similar in software testing is a plus.
