Role Overview
The Auditor – OFC is responsible for conducting end-to-end quality audits of optical fiber network deployment, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety guidelines, and project specifications. The role involves field-based inspections, documentation, route verification, customer-impact analysis, and coordination with operations teams to uphold quality and minimize network disruptions.
This role plays a critical part in enhancing the reliability of the OFC network, reducing outages, improving execution quality, and strengthening customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. OFC Infrastructure Audit & Quality Assurance
- Inspect OFC installation across aerial, underground, and duct-based deployments.
- Verify duct closure with end plugs post-HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) activities.
- Audit chamber construction, structural integrity, PCC work, and installation quality.
- Ensure earthing compliance at every 8 km as per industry standards.
- Verify plug installation at duct entry points within chambers.
- Review cable looping practices and adherence to standards.
- Inspect fiber splicing quality, closure integrity, and splice tray routing.
- Conduct depth verification surveys to detect shallow / non-compliant depths.
- Check for protective measures like warning tape, marker posts, and protection slabs.
2. Route Verification & Field Issue Management
- Conduct physical verification of existing OFC network routes.
- Identify on-ground issues, damages, non-compliance, or incomplete work.
- Document findings with photographic and geo-tagged evidence.
- Share observations with Operations team and obtain closure timelines.
- Track rectification progress in weekly audits until completion.
- Follow up on all open issues and escalate delays.
3. Enterprise Customer Connectivity & Service Quality
- Audit enterprise customer fiber connectivity routes.
- Analyze repeated outage cases and assist with root cause evaluation.
- Review historical outage cases and identify patterns or recurring defects.
- Ensure timely resolution of all escalated enterprise network complaints.
4. Aerial Cable Inspection & Risk Assessment
- Inspect aerial OFC routes for sagging, tension issues, and physical risks.
- Identify locations vulnerable to vehicle movement, height clearance issues, etc.
- Recommend preventive measures and track execution.
- Monitor aerial routes for seasonal or weather-related risks.
5. Safety & Execution Compliance
- Audit adherence to safety protocols at OFC execution sites.
- Ensure proper barricading, signage, and traffic management at work sites.
- Verify usage of PPE by field teams during execution and restoration.
- Monitor overall compliance with safety horn/warning systems.
6. Documentation, Reporting & MIS
- Prepare detailed audit reports including findings and recommendations.
- Maintain and update OFC audit checklists and compliance trackers.
- Track audit performance and closure rates via MIS dashboards.
- Publish weekly review reports in coordination with Operations.
- Maintain photographic and geo-tagged evidence for all audited points.
- Generate periodic trend reports for management.

Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of OFC network architecture & installation methods.
- Knowledge of fiber splicing, closures, OFC testing, and restoration.
- Ability to read route maps, technical drawings, and GIS data.
- Knowledge of safety standards and telecom quality guidelines.
- Familiarity with HDD, aerial cable installation, chamber construction, etc.

Education & Experience

- Experience with fiber laying, splicing, or telecom infra projects is desirable.
