Main purpose of the job and keybackground information(Note: Key responsibilities are assignedbased on an evaluation of the candidate’s professional qualification, relevant experience, Excel skills, and ademonstrated working knowledge offinancial analysis that impacts the businessand economic environment.)You will play an integral role in valuation services provided toPwC audit companies as well as non-audit companies as it relates to various private equity investments and valuation of portfolio companies.
Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Analysing third party valuations by challengingassumptions and performing sensitivity analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
- Developing deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets, serving as a firm resource for thatexpertise
- Reporting and presenting analysis and conclusions including written reports, and drafting valuation queries for audit team
- Delegating effectively tasks and providing direction and support to more junior team members
- Enhancing the quality of work by actively supervising and coaching others taking responsibility for the quality of work and performing a critical self-review, seeking proactively the advice of supervisors, and responding to feedback in a timely manner
- Building long-term client relationships through exceptional client service including a deep understanding of the client and their needs, exceptional responsiveness, and the delivery of the highest quality service and work product
Education & Experience
- Qualified Chartered accountant or CFA charter holder
- Minimum of 3-5 years of valuation-related work experience including but not limited to solid experience of constructing and reviewing valuation models such as: DCF, comparable company / bond, option pricing model (knowledge of building breakpoints), waterfall allocation methods etc.
- Understanding of Private Equity industry, Startup and VC funding, and understanding capital structure of private company
- End to end understanding of various nuances in arriving at fair valuation of private company’s shares
- Ability to analyze key financial metrics depending on the portfolio company’s industry, identify historical trends and perform calibration analysis to understand the key drivers causing the changes in the company'svaluation in each reporting period.
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Experience of building and maintaining client
relationships
- Experience in mentoring staff and / or managing a
small team
- Ability to coordinate internal teams and tasks across a
variety of functions
- Knowledge of CapitalIQ will be an advantage
- Playing a role in discussions, proactively ask questions
and share an informed point of view;
