Role Overview:
The Assistant Manager PMT (International) is responsible for managing the complete product lifecycle, developing and executing global marketing strategies, supporting new product launches in international markets, and ensuring strong brand positioning across diverse geographies. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as R&D, RA, QA/QC, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and International Business teams to drive commercial success and sustainable product growth.
Role & responsibilities
Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM):
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned products from development, launch, growth, maturity to decline across international markets.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews to evaluate product performance, pricing, market share, and profitability.
- Recommend strategies for product enhancements, SKU rationalization, line extensions, and cost optimization.
- Track competition lifecycle, market evolution, and regulatory changes to ensure product relevance and competitiveness.
Pharma Product Marketing (International Markets):
- Develop global product marketing plans aligned with country-specific regulatory, competitive, and customer insights.
- Create marketing tools such as product monographs, detailers, brochures, e-detailers, training decks, and visual aids.
- Support sales teams with clinical data, product positioning scripts, and objection-handling materials.
- Conduct medical and market research to identify therapy trends, prescriber behaviour, and unmet needs.
Product Launch Management (Domestic & International:
- Coordinate launch planning, timelines, and readiness with R&D, RA, Supply Chain, Packaging Development, and International Business teams.
- Prepare product launch kits including medico-marketing content, promotional collaterals, pricing, and branding guidelines.
- Conduct launch training programs for international sales teams/distributors.
- Monitor product launch effectiveness and support post-launch market penetration strategies
Global Product Brand Positioning:
- Define brand vision, value proposition, and differentiation strategy for global markets.
- Customize positioning strategies as per regional healthcare landscapes, prescriber preferences, and regulatory practices.
- Ensure consistent brand identity across all marketing materials, communication, and territories.
- Collaborate with market intelligence teams to refine positioning based on competitor analysis and market insights.
7Ps of International Marketing
- Managing the 7Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process & Physical Evidence) of Marketing at an international level involves designing, adapting, and executing marketing strategies that are relevant, compliant, and effective across multiple global markets with diverse cultures, regulatory environments, and competitive landscapes.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work closely with R&D for product development insights, formulations, and technical support.
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs for dossier timelines, submissions, artwork management, and compliance.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain & Production for inventory planning, demand forecasting, and on-time availability.
- Partner with Finance for pricing models, cost structures, margins, and supporting business case preparation.
- Liaise with International Business teams and distributors for market inputs, promotional strategies, and demand generation activities.
Preferred candidate profile
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / Science Graduate + MBA (Marketing / Pharma Management preferred) with 3 to 6 years experience in PMT / International Marketing / Product Management within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Must have exposure on Dermatology Products.
- Exposure to international pharmaceutical markets (Africa & Asian Countries preferred.)
- Must have exposure in Product Life Cycle Management, Product Launch, Brand Positioning, 7Ps of marketing etc.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product management and global regulatory environments.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and market insight skills.
- Strong communication, medico-marketing, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, and marketing tools.
- Should have skills in Business Analysis, Budgeting, data Analysis & marketing tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- High integrity and compliance orientation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and handle multiple priorities.
