Role & responsibilities Lead the planning and execution of new product development projects from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Lead and motivate a diverse workforce of production supervisors, test engineers, operators, technicians, and support staff to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets. Perform design evaluations and code review on various stages of product development. Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects. Performing debugging, testing, and validation of embedded systems. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues throughout the product development lifecycle. Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer service teams to gather market insights, identify customer needs, and define product requirements. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities for product differentiation. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, and track progress against key milestones. Foster a culture of creativity, continuous improvement, and risk-taking within the new product development team. Documenting product datasheets, catalogues, reference & maintenance manuals, CAD drawings, and other design sheets. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the product development process and manufacturing activities. Liaising with test & certification bodies. Drive product innovation through the implementation of best practices, new technologies, and process improvements. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders, and propose mitigation strategies as needed. Evaluate the performance of new products post-launch, gather feedback from customers, and implement product enhancements or modifications as necessary. Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and quality control. Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and maximize productivity. Collaborate with manufacturing team, R&D and procurement teams to introduce new products or processes into manufacturing and resolve production-related issues. Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization to enhance operational efficiency and drive cost savings. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production metrics to track performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed. Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Develop and maintain manufacturing budgets, forecasts, and cost reduction targets, and manage expenditures within approved budgets. Preferred candidate profile Masters / Bachelors degree in Electronics or Electronics & Communication Engineering from reputed university. Advanced degrees or certifications in embedded systems or project management may be beneficial. Minimum 10 years of experience is required for a candidate having a proven track record of leading embedded systems projects from concept to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, and risk management. Extensive experience in embedded systems development, including firmware development in software such as Embedded C/C++, RTOS, Linux, assembly language, including development of algorithms, flow charts, manipulation of data structures and implementing highly optimized code, hardware-software integration, and real-time systems. A candidate having an additional experience in manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and quality control, preferably in the electronics industry is preferred. Proven track record of leading and managing manufacturing teams, driving performance improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. Understanding of Quality management system, experienced in lean manufacturing, supply chain management, regulatory compliance, budgeting & cost control. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify technical challenges, propose effective solutions, and overcome obstacles in the development process. Experienced in development and review of major interfaces and protocols. Proven experience in extensive embedded systems designs with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time Operating systems, on various 8-bit and 32-bit MPU & MCU platforms & other platforms. Experienced in Proof-of-concept development, Board bring-up testing, Interface testing, System level debugging, Basic knowledge of Digital & Analog circuits and their trouble shooting, Environment & thermal testing.
