Job Description Associate/Assistant Professor – Architecture Graduate (CoA) with specialization in Building Services and Construction Management The Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) at the O.P. Jindal Global University, invites applications for faculty at the rank of Associate/Assistant Professor (full time/contract) – Architect with specialization in Building Services and Construction Management. We seek applicants who have completed their undergraduate studies in architecture from a Council of Architecture recognized institution, and have significant work experience in the field of building services, building materials industry, construction & project management, building engineering systems, construction site supervision, good for construction drawing preparation and execution, site coordination, and/or related skillsets. Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate sufficient experience in designing, developing and evaluating the entire range of management issues related to construction and the built environment. Experience of working with projects of multiple scales and sectors will be valued. Candidates would be expected to teach undergraduate studios and seminars and contributing towards evolving the curriculum. Given the inter-disciplinary nature of pedagogical practices at the JSAA candidates will be expected to teach students from across various design majors, and thus, develop coursework in a manner that highlights both the collaborative and inter-disciplinary nature of any design practice. Further, candidates will be expected actively pursue research, critical practices and undertake institutional development. Mandatory Qualifications (Assistant Professor) First Class Bachelors Degree in Architecture recognized by the Council of Architecture, and Master’s degree in Architecture or Design or Engineering or related fields, and A minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience of working on building projects related to schematic and technical drawing preparation, design coordination, and site execution. Mandatory Qualifications (Associate Professor) First Class Bachelors Degree in Architecture recognized by the Council of Architecture, and Master’s degree in Architecture or Design or Engineering or related fields, and A minimum of 8 years postgraduate experience of working on construction drawing preparation, building material sourcing & application, costing and estimation, site supervision, coordination with consultants, construction management, and/or related tasks. Desired Qualifications (Assistant Professor) PhD, and/or 5 years of postgraduate experience of working on building projects related to construction drawing preparation, building material sourcing & application, costing and estimation, site supervision, coordination with consultants, construction management, and/or related tasks. Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards Relevant college-level teaching and administrative experience, and the ability to mentor and advise students on their academic and professional paths. A flexible, integrative, collaborative, and inter-disciplinary approach to design education. Desired Qualifications (Associate Professor) PhD, and/or 10 years of postgraduate experience of working on building projects related to construction drawing preparation, building material sourcing & application, costing and estimation, site supervision, coordination with consultants, construction management, and/or related tasks.
