Job Title:

Associate Specialist - Security Engineering

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and security-conscious DLP Analyst to join our Managed Security Services (MSS) team. The ideal candidate will assist in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) alerts to help clients prevent data breaches and enforce sensitive data handling policies. This is a hands-on operational role, ideal for someone with a strong foundation in cybersecurity and a desire to grow within the data protection domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze DLP alerts and incidents across endpoint, network, cloud, and email channels.
  • Triage potential data leakage incidents, assess severity, and escalate or respond as appropriate.
  • Support the enforcement of data protection policies and rules defined by clients or internal teams.
  • Perform initial investigations of policy violations, data movement patterns, and potential misuse of sensitive information.
  • Document incidents accurately and ensure timely updates in ticketing and incident management systems.
  • Collaborate with internal MSS teams (e.g., SOC, SIEM, Threat Intelligence) for deeper analysis and response.
  • Assist in false positive analysis and help tune DLP rules to improve accuracy over time.
  • Generate basic reports and summaries for compliance and operational metrics.
  • Stay current on DLP best practices, tools, and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention concepts and tools (e.g., Symantec DLP, Microsoft Purview, Forcepoint, Digital Guardian).
  • Understanding of data classification, privacy, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, email systems, endpoint monitoring, and cloud services.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and reporting skills, especially in explaining technical findings to non-technical audiences.
