Associate Software Engineer

As an Associate Software Engineer at S&P Global's Markit Intelligence business, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining high-quality cloud-based applications. You will work collaboratively with a team of experienced application/web developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to contribute to the technology architectural designs and development efforts within the S&P Global Markit Intelligence division. Your role will involve analyzing business requirements, designing, implementing, and testing features while ensuring adherence to non-functional requirements such as performance and scalability. Additionally, you will be actively involved in agile product development throughout all Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases. Key Responsibilities: - Actively participate in system architecture and design discussions, offering new ideas and approaches - Recommend product, process, and tooling improvements - Develop high-quality, reusable code and libraries efficiently - Collaborate with QA and Business teams to proactively address issues and risks - Adhere to quality standards including code conventions, code reviews, unit testing, and revision control - Support all areas of the application and work effectively with teams across different geographies Qualifications Required: - 1 to 5 years of development experience using Java related technologies, preferably in the financial domain - Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and OOP principles including design patterns - Experience with SpringBoot, relational databases, and working effectively in a global team - Additional experience with cloud-based infrastructure, front-end technologies like ReactJs, AngularJS, and building APIs using REST, JSON, etc. - Familiarity with automation technologies such as Maven, CICD pipeline, Gitlab/Github About S&P Global Market Intelligence: S&P Global Market Intelligence, a division of S&P Global, provides accurate, deep, and insightful information through expert insights and leading data and technology solutions.
