Associate Program Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer with extensive experience in designing, building, and leading modern data platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with the ability to lead a small team (45 members), collaborate across global stakeholders, and conceptualize scalable data solutions.

This role involves hands-on data engineering, solution architecture, and leadership responsibilities from building data lakes and pipelines to driving proposals and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Solutioning

• Architect and implement scalable data lake and data pipeline solutions to support analytics and BI needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Evaluate and implement data tools, technologies, and frameworks that fit enterprise data strategy.
• Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes across multiple systems.

Team Management & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor a team of 5-6 data engineers, setting direction, priorities, and growth paths.
• Define coding standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks for the data engineering team.
• Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and drive technical upskilling.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with international teams, including business, analytics, and technology counterparts, to align priorities and deliver outcomes.
• Partner with senior management to communicate data strategies, progress, and value realization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, BI developers, product owners) to enable end-to-end data-driven decision-making.

Proposal & Strategic Contributions

• Support pre-sales and proposal activities including scoping, effort estimation, and solution definition.
• Conceptualize and present innovative data engineering solutions aligned with client objectives.
• Identify opportunities to optimize data systems and contribute to organizational best practices.

Core Technical Skills

• Data Engineering:

  End-to-end data pipeline design and automation

• Languages:

  SQL, Python

• Big Data Technologies:

  Hive, Spark, Hadoop ecosystem

• ETL Tools:

  Experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow, NiFi, etc.)

• Data Visualization:

  Tableau (ability to design backend data models for reporting)

• Databases:

  Strong in relational and distributed databases (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, or similar)

• Data Modeling:

  Dimensional modeling, schema design, and data quality management

• Version Control & CI/CD:

  Git, Jenkins, or similar frameworks

Preferred Experience

• Designing and managing cloud-based data lakes (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Building data pipelines for BI and analytics use cases
• Working in global delivery models with distributed teams
• Exposure to proposal writing, RFP responses, and stakeholder presentations
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles

Education
