Associate, Green Skilling

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced professional who iskeen on taking up the role in a project focused on green skilling. Theprofessional will be expected to further Swaniti\ vision on understanding thegaps and opportunities on green skilling and then work with state governmentson operationalizing them. The current areas of \u201cgreen skilling\u201d include solar,hydro, geothermal, wind and domestic waste management. Given thetechnical requirements of the space, the following qualities would be favourablylooked upon for the candidate. The candidate must have demonstrated experience in theskills sector. This can include conducting skill assessments, working withskilling departments, and managing skilling work. Pastexperiences of working on sustainability and climate would be favourably lookedupon, including on state and central government initiative. Demonstrated experience of working withstate/central government would be advantageous A strongunderstanding of the skilling ecosystem would support the candidacy. Strongefficiency in conducting on-field surveys, FGDs s and household interviews Roles & Responsibilities: As mentioned above, Swanitihas been working to identify economic opportunities for last mile communitiesduring energy transition. And thus, skilling has been key to our work. We arelooking for Associates who can support in a.) ground level analysis throughprimary data and research, b.) assistance to state governments on policyplanning and program identification and c.) requisite monitoring and programimplementation support on ground. Therefore, the Associate will be working aspart of a larger team to be able to - Develophigh-quality research documents, along with need assessment, situationanalysis, data analysis, brainstorming with relevant stakeholders. Coordinate, manage, and draft a comprehensiveresearch paper on community readiness for green skilling. TheAssociate will be expected to come up with critical research inputs and supportin policy formulation document. Workwith the state administration to operationalize the feedback that is beingcollected within communities. Organize and execute events,seminars, and roundtable discussions, etc., that are needed for the green-skillingprocess. Provide any additional support tobuild out capabilities around green skilling. Conduct on field surveys and analyselarge-scale data sets. Requirements Qualifications: Candidatesmust have at least 3 years of experience working in skilling, energy andlivelihoods Priorexperience in handling large-scale government data sets and working with statedepartments A post-graduatedegree in any field with a preference for those possessing a degree inenvironment, climate and sustainability, energy, skilling related field, etc.,is strongly preferred.
