Associate Engineer - Turbomachinery

Role Overview: Join Caterpillar Inc., a global team dedicated to creating stronger and more sustainable communities. As a Design Engineer, your primary responsibility will be the design and integration of turbomachinery Packaging systems. Your work will directly impact the world by contributing to the enhancement of system availability and reliability in industrial gas turbine packaging and associated gas compression and power generation systems engineering. Key Responsibilities: - Designing packaging systems and equipment layouts. - Selecting and integrating components into complete packages. - Investigating mechanical, hydro, shop, and field issues related to Solar Turbine products packaging systems. - Developing P&ID for various systems used in Gas turbines. - Sizing components and selecting instruments and valves based on technical specifications. - Leading engineering teams in executing major projects. - Communicating technical information effectively and participating in design review meetings. - Applying standard engineering principles, concepts, and techniques in mechanical design and drafting/CAD. - Utilizing engineering analysis techniques and demonstrating familiarity with gas turbine manufacturing processes. - Coordinating with functional teams to progress design intent and support innovation for new product development. - Staying current with industry developments in the field of expertise. Qualifications Required: - A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent relevant experience. - Minimum 5 years of experience in Turbomachinery Packaging Systems Mechanical Design. - Good communication, organizational, teaming, and analytical skills. - Working knowledge of computer-aided design & drafting (Creo), gas turbine operations, and driven equipment. - Field experience, knowledge of Windchill, & Promis-e would be an added advantage.
