Associate Engineer - Frontend

Job Description

This role will give you the opportunity to work on several new initiatives involving PayPal Wallets that have high visibility within the Company. The individual selected for this role will be working on solutions spanning across multiple components/platforms thereby helping them in broadening their domain understanding. These initiatives are critical for expanding PayPal s Customer outreach which in turn has a direct bearing on increasing PayPal revenue. Your way to impact You will be responsible for working with a team of engineers in design, development, testing, and deployment of a range of products on web and mobile platforms. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, strong technical ability, excellent project execution skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. As a Front End Engineer, you will: Be able to independently design, code and test complex features, as well as lead and mentor other engineers, help build engineering teams Drive both technology and product innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development Be a technical subject matter expert and represent the full internal and external capabilities of the platform. Lead complex architectural discussions that involve multiple systems Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery. Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives sponsored by senior executives Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD Proactive response in identifying and troubleshooting integration or technical issues. Write tests for the existing and newly created code to maintain compatibility What you need to bring 1-2 years experience in Front-end Development building successful production software systems Design, develop, and maintain frontend applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and other relevant technologies. Experience with web front end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, Bootstrap etc bachelors degree in computer science or related field Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to implement user-friendly features and interfaces. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards. Optimize frontend applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness. Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to established standards. Troubleshoot and debug frontend issues, providing timely resolution and maintaining system integrity. Stay up to date with the latest frontend development trends, tools, and technologies, and recommend best practices to enhance team productivity and product quality. Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to foster their professional growth and development.
