Job Description

As an Assistant Vice President, Wholesale Non Financial Risk at HSBC, your main responsibilities will include: - Leading and providing subject matter expertise (SME) support on Business Risk related matters such as risk identification, mitigation, governance, insights, and control activities for various verticals within the organization. - Actively supporting Wholesale Business Risk Senior Management in managing Conduct Risk and ensuring governance committees meet the risk governance framework requirements. - Providing guidance to first-line management regarding Risk Management framework and facilitating risk and control assessments. - Offering SME guidance in areas of primary responsibilities, considering internal and external directives from risk stewards and other departments. - Supporting regional teams during risk steward reviews or internal audits to ensure alignment with applicable regulatory control environment requirements. - Implementing frameworks without breaches of timelines, ensuring high data quality in system records, and timely updates on any relevant changes including regulatory changes. - Monitoring completion of training and conducting awareness sessions to enhance understanding of risk management among colleagues. - Facilitating the development of key indicators to proactively manage risk. Qualifications required for this role include: - Strong understanding of Risk Management, including Risk and Control Assessment, assessing Control Rating, Issue and Action Management, and ensuring data quality within risk and control frameworks. - Experience in risk management within a global organization, with additional experience in Resilience Risk, Cyber Security Risk, Regulatory risk, or Operational Risk being advantageous. - Competent decision-maker, strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, influencing skills, and effective communication abilities. - Ability to work in a matrix organization, deliver against deadlines, and handle a broad range of issues and resourcing. - Proactive in identifying issues, ability to work independently, collaborate effectively in a team, and demonstrate good business acumen. - Bachelor/Master degree in Finance/Business Administration/Financial Risk Management or equivalent, with strong MS-Excel and Power Point skills, and exposure to Qliksense/Power BI tools.
