Job Description

Assistant Vice President (AVP) Medical Coding

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end medical coding operations across multiple specialties with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy.
Manage coding teams to resolve front-end denials and rejections efficiently.
Set up and stabilize new coding projects, ensuring scalable and efficient delivery models.
Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes and maintain strong relationships.
Provide coding expertise to educate clients and providers on compliant coding methodologies.
Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and workflow optimization to enhance ROI.
Collaborate with training and quality teams to develop coder upskilling frameworks and feedback loops.
Monitor team performance, control attrition, and promote a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Stay updated on ICD-10, CPT, E&M, and Pathology/Lab coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory changes.

What Were Looking For

Certification:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent.
Experience:
18+ years in medical coding, audits, pre-adjudication, and workflow management.
Expertise:
Strong command of ICD-10, E&M, HCC , Multispecialty coding experience is a plus.
Leadership:
Currently serving as a
Senior Director (1.5+ years)
or
Assistant Vice President
in a healthcare BPO or coding services organization.
Skills:
Strategic mindset, excellent client management, strong communication, and proven track record of delivery excellence.
