Job Description

As an Assistant Vice President, Financial Crime Risk Stewardship at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in managing financial crime risks by overseeing and directing business controls in alignment with Global Line of Business procedures and HSBC Global Policies and Procedures. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing support in managing FC risks by ensuring transparency with FLOD and SLOD, overseeing control assessments, and monitoring trigger events for internal and external incidents. - Collaborating at a regional and country level to work across the entire FC structure and with lines of business and functions, including DBS where applicable. - Preparing, reviewing, challenging, and consolidating accurate data, reports, and presentation packs for key executive meetings and forums. - Assisting in Operational Effectiveness (OE) and Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) by presenting and evaluating risks and controls identified through these processes. - Developing and maintaining the risk steward view of the effectiveness of the financial crime risk framework and ensuring consistent communication of this view in relevant risk governance meetings. - Supporting Senior Management in analyzing country and regional audit and assurance reports, ensuring timely action plans for identified issues. Qualifications required for this role include: - 8-10 years of overall work experience in the banking/financial services industry. - 4-5 years of experience in Financial Crime Risk or Business Risk functions. - Strong understanding of how FC controls mitigate FC Risk and the overall Risk Management framework. - Working knowledge of the line of business/function supported, compliance risk policies, and regulations. - Interpersonal skills for collaboration and networking, including the ability to articulate the case for risk management. - Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentational) to influence others and resolve differing views diplomatically. - Ability to work independently, analyze situations critically, recommend effective solutions, and anticipate regulatory concerns. - Working knowledge of the Non-Financial Risk Framework and Technical User Guides is preferred.
