See your commute Become part of Barclays Assistant Vice President , you will be part of the Models Centre of Excellence team and will be responsible for production of bottom-up data and analysis related to the emission profile of the bank’s counterparties. The analysis is used for both, internal reporting for senior management consumption and for external disclosures. The Mex Carbon Emission reporting team provides analysis and model development/enhancement capabilities to support Bank’s sustainability goals. To be successful in this role, you should have: Role requires significant analytical and technical skills and evaluative judgement in order determine appropriate model methodologies but also to determine the right balance between model sophistication and practical application/understanding by stakeholders. Assist in the model development process and participate in the discussions/assessment of model methodology and documentation, including engagement with senior stakeholders. Engaging in the development and/or enhancement of climate specific risk methodologies to quantify climate-related exposures. Some other highly values skills include: Having 5+ years of experience in Finance or Risk function. Having experience of Working on deliverables coordinating with numerous teams (e.g. Quantitative Analytics, Front Office, Risk, Treasury, etc.) and work streams (e.g. model development, documentation, results governance, etc.) Developed robust internal controls including policies and procedures; change control; comprehensive documentation; model validation; and review by IA. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. This role is in based in our Chennai or Noida office. Purpose of the role To understand, assess, and manage climate-related financial risks by combining financial expertise . and understanding of climate change. Support the Bank in enhancing disclosures and meeting regulatory demands. Provide data and insights that inform decision-making and support the bank's transition to a low-carbon economy. Accountabilities Support the development of the bank's climate-related financial strategy, including risk management strategies, investment strategies, and climate action plans. Identification, assessment, and analysis of climate-related financial risks, and the development of risk assessment methodologies and tools to measure and monitor climate-related financial risks. Management of climate-related data and governance around data quality to enable measurement of the impact of climate change on the Bank’s financial position and climate strategy. Preparation and review of climate-related disclosures, and communication of climate related financial risk to senior colleagues and investors.
