Leaders’ Edge is Hiring: AVP – Contracts & Procurement Position Title: Assistant Vice President – Contracts & Procurement Function: Operations / Contracts Management Location: Pune Purpose of the Role: Leaders’ Edge has been exclusively mandated to hire a senior procurement leader to drive the end-to-end contracts and procurement function for high-value real estate projects in the Pune zone. The selected professional will be responsible for formulating contract strategy, vendor governance, risk management, and claims resolution , ensuring project execution aligns with cost, quality, and timeline goals. Key Responsibilities: Contract Strategy & Governance Define and execute contracting strategies across multiple real estate project verticals in line with organizational budget and business goals. Oversee the prequalification and vendor evaluation process to ensure alignment with trade-specific requirements. Tendering & Award Process Draft and review tender documents , including special conditions of contract. Lead techno-commercial negotiations with vendors and internal stakeholders. Prepare contract award notes and collaborate with senior approving authorities for timely finalization. Manage LOA issuance and formal contract documentation processes. Contract Administration & Risk Mitigation Administer cost variations, extra items , and change orders through valid amendment processes. Track and validate contractual compliances (e.g., bank guarantees, timelines). Proactively identify potential claims and mitigate legal/financial risks through timely interventions. Dispute Resolution & Communication Serve as an arbitrator and key interface between internal teams and external contractors to resolve disputes effectively. Manage contractual terminations , delay analysis, and documentation to prevent counterclaims. Maintain effective contractual communication to minimize future claims. Closure & Knowledge Management Drive the contract closure and close-out documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement in contract practices and institutionalize best practices in procurement and legal safeguards . Ideal Candidate Profile: Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in the real estate or construction industry. Proven exposure to contracts management, vendor negotiations, tendering processes, and risk mitigation. Key Competencies: Deep understanding of construction contracts, cost control mechanisms , and procurement governance Strong knowledge of contract law , claim assessment, and dispute handling Ability to collaborate across engineering, project, and finance functions Commercial acumen and meticulous attention to detail Behavioral Attributes: Assertive yet collaborative communicator Conflict resolution and negotiation excellence Proactive problem-solver with legal risk awareness Strategic mindset with execution focus Show more Show less
