Assistant Restaurant Manager

An assistant restaurant manager supports the Restaurant Manager by overseeing daily operations, including staff supervision, training, inventory management, and customer service. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing scheduling and payroll, handling customer complaints, and maintaining high standards of food quality and service. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Key responsibilities

• Staff management: Supervise, train, and mentor staff, conduct performance reviews, and resolve employee conflicts. They are also involved in hiring and scheduling.
• Operational oversight: Manage daily operations, ensure the restaurant opens and closes smoothly, and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Customer service: Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensure a positive dining experience, and coach staff on customer service techniques.
• Inventory and supplies: Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies and ingredients, and manage vendor contracts and invoices.
• Financial management: Assist with budgeting, handle cash transactions, process payroll, and maintain accurate sales and expense records.
• Compliance and quality control: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations and maintain high standards for food quality and presentation.

Required qualifications and skills

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; a Bachelor's degree in hospitality or a related field is often preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role within the food service industry is usually necessary.
