Assistant Professor- Computer Science (Ph.D. Must)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our Computer Science and Engineering department as an Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in computer science, with a passion for teaching and research. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering lectures, conducting research, and guiding students at both undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate (M.Tech) levels. Key Responsibilities: Teaching & Lectures: Deliver high-quality lectures in areas related to computer science and engineering (e.g., algorithms, data structures, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software engineering, computer networks, databases, etc.). Design and update course curriculum in accordance with current advancements in the field of computer science. Conduct lab sessions and tutorials to help students gain practical knowledge. Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in their academic and research endeavors. Research: Engage in research activities, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to conferences and workshops. Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners on cutting-edge research in areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, cloud computing, or cybersecurity. Guide M.Tech and Ph.D. students in their research projects and dissertations. Academic Administration: Contribute to academic administrative tasks, including course planning, examination paper setting, grading, and mentoring students. Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other institutional activities. Student Development: Support students in their academic, research, and career development. Organize and lead seminars, workshops, and conferences on emerging technologies. Act as a role model for students, promoting ethical and academic integrity. Qualifications: Required: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (compulsory). Masters degree (M.Tech) in Computer Science or a related field. Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech) in Computer Science or a related field. Strong knowledge and expertise in at least one area of computer science such as algorithms, machine learning, software engineering, data science, computer networks, databases, or artificial intelligence. Excellent communication and presentation skills. A proven track record of research publications in reputable journals and conferences. Desirable: Industry experience in relevant computer science domains is a plus. Experience in supervising student research projects at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Knowledge of modern programming languages and software tools used in academia and industry. Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
