Assistant Production Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Support the Production Manager in executing daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
  
• Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, and raw materials.
  
• Monitor production output, cycle times, OEE, and adherence to TAT (Turnaround Time).
  

2. Operations Management

• Supervise end-to-end lens manufacturing processes such as surfacing, coating, tinting, edging, and quality inspection.
  
• Coordinate with maintenance for machine downtime reduction and preventive maintenance scheduling.
  
• Ensure shopfloor housekeeping (5S), safety compliance, and process discipline.
  

3. Quality Assurance

• Implement and maintain quality standards as per Lenskart norms.
  
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for defects, rejects, and customer complaints.
  
• Monitor lens quality parameters and ensure zero-compromise on QC standards.
  

4. Team Leadership

• Manage and guide supervisors, operators, and technicians in the Lens Lab.
  
• Conduct performance reviews, training programs, and skill development initiatives.
  
• Maintain strong coordination with cross-functional teams like Planning, Quality, & Logistics.
  

5. Process Improvement

• Identify bottlenecks and lead Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  
• Work on automation adoption, workflow optimization, and waste reduction projects.
  

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily MIS reports: productivity, yield, rejection analysis, and downtime tracking.
  
• Maintain updated SOPs, work instructions, and production documentation.
